FBR vows to solve exporters' blacklisting issues
The Express Tribune • • 1 min read

Federal Board of Revenue Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial has promised to address exporters’ complaints about blacklisting, following a meeting with a Towel Manufacturers and Exporters Association delegation at the Governor House. The Express Tribune reported that an Inland Revenue member was assigned to stay in direct contact with the association and help deal with suspended sales tax registrations, refund delays and related complaints.
TMA Chairman Rehan Mehtab Chawla also urged the government to reinstate the zero-rating arrangement under SRO 1125(1)/2011 for five export-focused sectors. The association said restoring it could reduce exporters’ liquidity pressures, unpaid refund accumulation and compliance costs, while calling for business-friendly, transparent tax rules. It welcomed the FBR chairman’s response but said the commitments still need to be implemented.
